Flourish Topic Hubs

It all started when I was searching for quality, reliable content to support my students’ learning. It was a minefield of dead links, daggy videos and downright incorrect ‘facts’.

I decided to do the hard yards and gather together info into one ‘hub’ that was a place where students could access content that was engaging, relevant and accurate.

Click on the gallery below to explore the different topics. More topic hubs are being created all the time, so check back. If you have a request or suggestion for a topic hub, contact us!

This Stage 3 NSW Science resource explores how and why earthquakes occur. Students investigate the Earth's layers, convection currents and tectonic plates while learning how earthquakes are measured and monitored using scientific tools and scales.

Through research, investigations, engineering challenges, and multimedia presentations, students develop their scientific understanding, problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate using accurate terminology, diagrams, and evidence-based data.

INCLUSIONS:

  • interactive web links

  • step by step experiments, earthquake proofing

  • student examples
